I offer a first session without commitment. This is a chance to explore why counselling may be helpful for you and to assess whether we feel we are right for each other.
If we decided to work together we would enter into an initial contract for six sessions. After this we would review your needs and goals and decide whether to continue working together.
The sessions would normally be weekly. The session time itself can be varied for those who have an irregular life pattern.
Empathy and compassion are the essence of the way I work and I would offer you a safe, supportive, non-judgemental, confidential space where you would feel heard, accepted, respected and valued. For many people this is a new experience which in itself allows for greater self-understanding.
I would see you first and foremost as a human being and I would use my humanity to meet yours. Each of us is different and I would approach your uniqueness with honour, respect and care.
Our work would be collaborative; a journey we would travel together, enabling you to reach a new understanding of both your difficulties and yourself. Ultimately I hope that you would find your life not only more manageable but also more enriching.
